[ It's funny that so many people only know Thor as his current visage, considering he spent most of his 1500 years with long flowing blonde hair and two eyes. That is why he explained the nickname, because he knows as he is now, it would make no sense. Stark kept calling him Point Break so he had Banner look it up on the internet for him, and the man with similar hair was quite handsome, so he accepted it.
Thor never came out and said that David warned him about the vines before, because it was an accident. David was asking advice on the network and didn't know he was giving away secrets to someone who knew Patrick already. He tried to be respectful and not push Patrick or ask questions about it, but it still worried him once he came back to his senses. Sometimes Thor is too direct and he knows that, but only sometimes does it backfire.
He shakes his head. ]
You'll find many awkward feelings on this ship at the moment, we were far from alone.
[ Thor may be one of the few who sees no real reason to feel bad or awkward about any of it, unless someone else feels otherwise, which is why in a way he's slightly insecure. He came to Patrick partly for reassurance. ]
I was worried you would be upset with me. I was the one who intruded.
[ Somehow it hadn't occurred to him to think about all the other people who might have been affected the same way, though now that Thor points it out, of course it wouldn't have been an isolated incident. He pales a little, then shakes his head. Not his problem to solve, even if he could. He and David are just lucky that they'd found each other while it was all going on. Eventually.
He glances back up at Thor, finally, eyes wide, shaking his head firmly. ]
No, no. I was - I...acted first.
I was out of line. Completely.
[ Even if he hadn't been able to stop himself, that still doesn't change what he'd done. ]
I hope this...won't affect our friendship, Thor. I understand if it does.
Patrick, I do not see these things the way others might.
[ Thor smiles wryly. ]
I am fifteen hundred years old, I have been with many people over the centuries, and while it was typically by choice, I have no problem with what happened in the vines and now between us.
[ Thor is overall an easy-going person though. His brother is as old as him, but far less comfortable on this subject. So it really does depend on the person, he knows that. He simply has no real hang-ups on this front. The point is he knows everyone approaches it differently. What was an odd but understandable situation to him could be very upsetting to someone else. ]
I put no blame on you, nor do I think you out of line. We were hit by something out of our control and I enjoyed our time together.
[ He reaches out a hand to Patrick. If Patrick takes his hand he will feel the worry in him for the next part, and otherwise his general warmth and affection. Thor is a touchy-feely type of guy.]
My friendship is always yours. But I worried you might have seen it as a violaton and therefore my enjoying it to be wrong.
[ Fifteen hundred years old. He'd known Thor was ancient - he's a god. But even so, it's hard to really wrap his head around.
He nods, relaxing a little; from what he'd known of Thor, he'd suspected this wouldn't be a big deal for him, but it's good to have it confirmed. ]
Thank you, Thor.
[ He hesitates briefly, then reaches out to take Thor's hand. Patrick's relief will be obvious through the empathy bond, as well as his gratitude, and his gladness that Thor still counts him as a friend. But there's still an undercurrent of something else, too, something halfway between anxiety and anticiptation. Excitement at future, as yet unknown possibilities. ]
It wasn't a violation at all. I, um. [ He hesitates again, his cheeks growing a little hot. ] David and I...both enjoyed it too.
[ Thor does know that for the short-lived that number must seem large, but he's still young in Asgardian terms. He's not even halfway through the average lifespan, more like a third way in. But he is reminded when dealing with younger species so he likes to give context. He is fairly easy-going for his own people too, so it is not only about age, but still. He has a lot of life experience behind his relaxed demeanor.
He is instantly relieved too when their hands meet and he can sense no anger or resentment from Patrick. Thor personally loves the empathy bond, he is upfront about his emotions much of the time, but he can't always read others. This makes it feel more an even playing ground. He does sense that little something else too and raises an eyebrow, catching on when that sweet blush crosses Patrick's cheeks.
Thor grins wolfishly. His amusement can be felt in the bond but it's not mocking, it's warmly intrigued. ]
I am glad to hear it.
[ He squeezes Patrick's hand gently. Thor steps a little closer, still a respectful distance and not touching, but he has a presence so even across a room he can feel close.]
Please know I never want to make you uncomfortable, but if you two are ever interested in choosing a third, I hope you will consider me as an option.
[ The choice part is the key here. They didn't before, but now they can. ]
[ He blushes further the moment it becomes clear that Thor's picked up on it, hating how obvious he is. But there's no judgement, no ridicule. There never is, from Thor.
There's never any subtlety, either, but he guesses he should be used to that by now. ]
Th- thank you.
[ The possibility of involving Thor again had crossed his mind, after his conversation with David; how could it not? He's an obvious choice, for a lot of reasons. But while he and David had (finally) managed to get on the same page and agree that..."choosing a third" was something they both might be interested in the future, they hadn't gotten specific in discussing when that might happen. Much less the question of who. And Patrick's not about to be the one to broach the subject with anyone, even on a hypothetical basis, before discussing it fully with David first. He nods, the movement a little jerky. ]
Thank you, Thor, that, um, that means a lot.
[ And it does, honestly. It's good to know Thor's interested, if and when. One less question to stress about. ]
Of course. I care about both of you. If we can remain friends regardless, that is what I want.
[ Friendship is incredibly important to Thor and he lets people into his heart easily, but genuinely. He will bend over backward and do anything for the people he cares for if they'll let him. He hasn't seen the Avengers in years and he still would put his life on the line for any one of them in an instant. That's the sort of loyalty that can be counted on from him. Also, the type of friend happy to offer a threesome. He does desire both of them. The sex was great and he's relieved to hear it was great for everyone.
Ordinarily, he would flirt a little more, just to make it easy and relaxed, but he doesn't want to push his friend when he's a little nervous still. Thor releases Patrick's hand so his feelings can be his own again, having wanted it to be certain they were on the same page with no confusion. Thor puts his hand on Patrick's shoulder instead, squeezing it affectionately. ]
I am glad you seem well. No more apologies from either of us then, right?
[ He smiles, a wide grin of happiness and relief that's mirrored in what Thor will feel through the empathy bond. Their friendship is the most important thing here, and he wouldn't have dared even think of suggesting a Round Two to Thor if he thought there was even a possibility that it could put that in jeopardy.
Mostly, he's glad he hadn't screwed anything up between them with the first one. He nods in answer to Thor's question, his smile growing a little softer. ]
It's a deal.
And no regrets. From me or David.
[ Normally he wouldn't speak for his husband like that, but he thinks the extra reassurance couldn't hurt, just in case. And he knows for a fact that it's true. ]
[ Thor beams a smile right back at him. He feels very protective over Patrick and has since the first time they met, since Patrick was so new to all of this strangeness and Thor took it in stride. There's a sweetness to the man that is unique. ]
You have such a handsome smile, Patrick. I am glad to be on the receiving end of it.
[ Alright so maybe he can't help flirting a little bit, but it's something he would say as a friend too. There's just an undercurrent now that goes with how eagerly he complimented Patrick while they were having sex, admiring his lips and the way they looked around his ....
Well. He tells himself to be good. No need to make this odd. He simply slaps Patrick on the back and gestures toward the door. ]
Can I interest you in a drink? Have you heard Perseus created some kind of new area?
[ It's not quite "that sweater really brings out your lips," but Patrick, predictably, blushes anyway, glancing quickly away even as his smile doesn't dim. ]
Um. You're welcome? I mean thank you?
[ Best to move right along. He grasps the change of subject like a lifeline, shaking his head. ]
'Created'? How do you...create a new area on a spaceship?
[Thor is trying so hard not to comment on the blush and the reply, but Patrick is adorable and he does adore him to be honest. Patrick kept the smile so at least he wasn't offended, but Thor doesn't mind changing the subject, since it was his idea. Otherwise he will keep flirting with Patrick and he is respecting the friendship boundaries until told otherwise.
Instead he leads Patrick out the door and starts leisurely walking toward the place in question. Thor didn't know there was space enough for whatever the AI had in mind, but there apparently was.]
I think perhaps the space was there before but unused. They call it a holodeck, when you step within you are in a new place entirely. It is an illusion, but it feels real.
[Thor falls for illusions all. the. time. Just ask his brother, who has managed to trick him so many times by now it's well past ridiculous.]
It is more than even Loki is capable of, but never tell him that, he gets very grumpy when something outshadows him.
[ It's hard to conceptualize what Thor is trying to describe. He's thinking of something like a theme park ride, maybe. An illusion, feeling real enough when you're in it, but not holding up to real scrutiny.
He's more than willing to come along and see what it's all about, though, following Thor out the door and walking with him down the corridor. ]
How's he doing it all, though? I'm surprised we have the resources.
I assume the only resource it's taking up is Perseus' time and energy. If it is digitally created the space is likely all he needed.
[Thor doesn't know the exact details. Science and math are subjects that Banner and Jane like. Even Stark likely would be curious about how everything worked, but not Thor. He accepts what it is at face value and rolls with it. Magic, technology, it all works in ways he doesn't understand. ]
Though it may not be wise for him to waste that energy, bandwidth I believe Stark calls it, perhaps he thought it would help with our mental welfare. Distractions can be very helpful.
[ Like Perseus himself, he supposes. Still, it's difficult to imagine on a larger scale. And it does seem like something like that could take up a lot of energy. Like one of those big Christmas light displays.
But it's Perseus' call, and Thor's right. Cabin fever is a real thing. They need something to keep them occupied. Hopefully something aphrodisiac-free, this time. ]
Well, I haven't noticed any blackouts? So I guess the ship can handle it.
Gotta say, it'll be nice to see something different. Not that the ship isn't nice, but...
[ "Utilitarian" is the best word he can come up with. His quarters with David isn't exactly his little studio back home, with its artwork and handmade coffee table. Much less the cottage they'd dreamed of. ]
I know very little of how robots work. My friends Stark and Banner created a murderous one once that tried to destroy the Earth, but then we made a robot together. It mimicked my cape and could wield my hammer, so it was a very good robot.
[ Thor is definitely underplaying how impressive Vision actually is, but he doesn't really understand the specifics of how he was made by his teammates. This is one of those instances where he rambles a story that is perfectly normal to him, but strange to anyone else. Especially when it includes the robot that is almost his kid. He did give Vision life! He knows very little of it now, he assumes it is alive and well. (Whoops.) ]
Staring into space can be terribly boring after a while, yes. Our occasional planet adventures notwithstanding. I hear there is a bar and something about giant lizards.
[ Thor heard 'new bar' and he was sold. He's already tried most of the drinks at the normal ship bar. Perhaps there will be other options now. He doesn't know why one would have a giant lizard, but it's intriguing. Surely the robot has a reason for those. ]
[ He'd suspect Thor of bullshitting him with some of these stories, except that he's pretty sure the god isn't capable of bullshitting anyone. Still, he can't help but wonder just how much the reality of the situation diverges from Thor's retelling of it. ]
I take it it didn't succeed. In destroying the Earth, I mean.
[ He frowns, intrigued. A new bar sounds like a nice safe change, if nothing especially unique. Something new for date night, at least. But... ]
No, no, we were far mightier than an army of robots, but it was a good try.
[ He has a lot of weird stories and 99% of them are absolutely true. Thor doesn't have to make up stories. His life is plenty bizarre. He nods and turns the corner with Patrick toward the holodeck. ]
Yes, I believe they are called dinosaurs. Let us go see.
